We started the tour in the Tachana complex near Neve Tzedek. We toured the streets associated with the history of Little Tel Aviv (the White City) before its establishment and saw special styles of houses and buildings (Bauhaus for example and more). We have heard names and resumes of famous and important figures and personalities during Tel Aviv history, before and after the establishment of the state of Israel and Tel Aviv.
Carmela, our Servas friend, pointed out houses and buildings and told us memories from her childhood in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood.
Our friend Shauli, an artist in his own right, also added details about a mosaic work based on the work of Nahum Gutman, around a fountain on Rothschild Boulevard, at the entrance to one of the buildings.
We also saw buildings and houses of great importance and significance from 1909, on Rothschild Boulvard, where the First Knesset building stands, and the proclamation of the establishment of the state of Israel took place.
We continues on the Independence trail, to The Great Synagogue, Hahagana museum, Municipality building on Bialik street and more.
Thanks to Reuven Barak, our Servas friend, for the professional and pleasant guidance, contributing greatly to our knowledge and familiarity with the city in particular.
