Servas Israel Mosaic workshop in nature – April 6th, 2022
Our Servas Israel Artists and Artisans group got together on April 29th in a picnic area of the Carmel National Park, for a Mosaic Workshop initiated by Debbi, based mainly on natural and recycled material.
Each person brought a base to work on: A plate, a tile, a piece of plywood, jar tops, or any other object he or she wanted to use.
Talma prepared ahead of time and cut shapes from ceramic shards: circles, squares and other shapes.
The organizers brought glue, paintbrushes to spread the blue and tweezers to set the pieces in place. Gideon was everywhere, helping by expertly cutting pieces based on requests.
The results were varied, from a figurative rendition of Picasso’s Don Quixote to geometric and abstract decorative designs.
The ceramic shards and glass mosaic stones were generously given to us by Nurit M. who closed down her mosaic workshop. Thank you, Nurit M.

כל אחד הביא בסיס שאותו שידרג עם פסיפס: עציץ או תחתית חרס, אריח, משטח עץ קטן, מכסים של צנצנות, או צלחת ישנה.
תלמה עמלה מראש וחתכה שברי קרמיקה מצלחות ואריחים ישנים בכל מיני צורות: עיגולים, ריבועים וצורות חופשיות. נורית מ. , שסגרה את סטודיו הפסיפס שלה, הביאה שברי קרמיקה, וגם אבני פסיפס מרובעות בשלל צבעים ובכמויות נדיבות שנתרמו על ידה.
המארגנים הביאו דבק נגרים, קערית פלסטיק לדבק, מברשת ציור למריחת הדבק, פינצטה כדי להניח את האבנים במדויק, וגם כלי חיתוך לקרמיקה וזכוכית. גדעון תרם את המומחיות שלו, וחתך לכולם צורות לפי הזמנה.
היצירות היו מגוונות ביותר, מפסיפס ציורי של דון קישוט (מאיר חיון) ועד קישוטים גיאומטריים ואבסטרקטיים.
כמובן שעשינו הפסקת אוכל לפי מיטב המסורת הסרווסית עם מגוון סלטים בריאים.
