A handful of Servas Israel members went to the Golan to participate in a guided tour of the Druze in the Golan and Syria, guided by our Servas member Aqab, a tour guide from Buqata.

Thank you for the clear explanations about the history and geopolitics of the Druze in general and the Golan Heights in particular. Thank you for sharing personal stories from the heart, thank you for the shared discourse in the spirit of Servas. Wishing you good and peaceful days.

Thank you to Aqab for making us aware of the complexity of the subject, organizing it for us, and providing us with first-hand information, including the moving story of his childhood divided between Syria and Israel.
