Saturday 23 November 2024 – Servas Israel volunteers meeting , Hertzlia
Between alarms, with war at the borders, Servas Israel N.S – Claudia – and Shlomi, her husband – organized a meeting in their home in the center of Israel, face-to-face – which is not usual these days.
All regional coordinators and volunteers (member-admins, applicant-admins, interviewers, travel-admins…) were invited from all over Israel – more than 20 arrived, all ages, including young new-applicant.
We took the opportunity to share stories – how Servas friends from all over the world showed empathy and care for us during the war – asking how we are, inviting us to come and take a break from it in their homes, ….
We enjoyed some social games, had lunch together, tasting all hand-made dishes brought by all friends, and – Claudia surprised us – raised a toast and served a birthday cake for Servas 75 anniversary.
How good it was to meet.
בין אזעקה לאזעקה, עם מלחמה בגבולות, ארגנו מפגש פעילים בביתם של קלודיה ושלומי – כי התגעגענו למפגש פנים אל פנים – דבר שאינו רגיל בימים אלה.
כל הפעילים והמתאמים האזוריים הוזמנו מכל רחבי ישראל – יותר מ-20 הגיעו, בכל הגילאים, כולל מצטרף חדש צעיר.
ניצלנו את ההזדמנות לשתף סיפורים – איך חברי סרווס מכל העולם הפגינו אמפתיה, תמיכה ואכפתיות כלפינו במהלך המלחמה – ושאלו מה שלומנו, הזמינו אותנו לבוא לקחת פסק זמן בבתיהם, ….
נהנינו ממשחקים חברתיים, אכלנו יחד ארוחת משותפת, טעמנו מאכלים שחברים הביאו , וגם – קלודיה הפתיעה אותנו – הרמנו כוסית והגשנו עוגת יום הולדת לרגל יום השנה ה- 75 לסרווס בינ״ל .
