In the summer of 2007, a youth and family conference was held in the Yorkshire Dales, England. We came as a family from Israel and this is where we met Pablo Chufeni and learned about SYLE from him.
About 125 children participated in the conference, young people and adults who came from England, South Korea, Turkey, Singapore, USA, France, Italy, Uganda, Belgium, Czech Republic, Spain, Malawi, Mexico, Germany, Egypt, Denmark, India, Venezuela, Argentina, Finland, Israel, Norway, Poland, Australia and Tunisia.
We lived together for a week, in guest house-level rooms, in shared rooms or in tents, each according to his choice.
The conference included lectures, discussion meetings, workshops, English lessons, various social activities (opening evening with local and international music and dance, singing sessions, musical sessions, dance lessons), sports activities (bowling, soccer, a game against a neighboring village team, tai chi), trips (short, long, tours to nearby sites, a tour about the slave trade in England, activities in caves), baking sessions for children, creative activities for children and more..
It was a special experience, meeting people from all over the world, getting to know each other, exchanging opinions, spending time together and if some of them keep in touch.
The next world youth conference will be held in Turkey in the summer of 2008. You should join!

בקיץ 2007 התקיים כנס צעירים ומשפחות ביורקשייר דיילס, אנגליה.
בכנס השתתפו כ-125 ילדים, צעירים ומבוגרים שבאו מאנגליה, דרום קוריאה, תורכיה, סינגפור, ארה"ב, צרפת, איטליה, אוגנדה, בלגיה, צ'כיה, ספרד, מלאווי, מקסיקו, גרמניה, מצריים, דנמרק, הודו, ונצואלה, ארגנטינה, פינלנד, נורווגיה, פולין, אוסטרליה וטוניסיה.
גרנו יחד שבוע ימים, בחדרים ברמת בית הארחה, בחדרים משותפים או באוהלים, כל אחד עפ"י בחירתו.
הכנס כלל הרצאות, פגישות דיון, סדנאות, שעורי לימוד אנגלית, פעילויות חברתיות שונות (ערב פתיחה עם מוסיקה וריקוד מקומיים ומהעולם, מפגשי שירה, מפגשי נגינה, לימוד מחולות), פעילות ספורט (כדורת, כדורגל, משחק נגד נבחרת כפר שכן, טאי צ'יי), טיולים (קצרים, ארוכים, סיורים לאתרים בסביבה, סיור בנושא סחר עבדים באנגליה, פעילות במערות), מפגשי אפיה לילדים, פעילות יצירה לילדים ועוד..
הייתה זאת חוויה מיוחדת, להיפגש עם אנשים מרחבי העולם, להכיר, להחליף דעות, לבלות יחד ואם חלקם לשמור על קשר.
כנס הצעירים העולמי הבא יתקיים בתורכיה בקיץ 2008. כדאי!
